Psoriasis

Dr Armenores is able to offer numerous topical preparations, injectable treatments, phototherapy as well as strong tablet medication to treat the full range of mild to severe psoriasis.

Phototherapy involves exposing the skin to a particular wavelength of ultraviolet light, two to three times per week.

Eczema

This condition is typically managed with topical medications and lifestyle changes. However, some patients do require the help of strong tablet medication, newer injectables, or phototherapy.

For patients who are suspicious of a contact allergy, patch testing can be performed.

Hyperhidrosis

Injectable treatment (subsidised by Medicare to eligible patients) is offered to treat excessive sweating of the arm pits. Benefits typically last between four to six months and injections can be repeated when necessary.

For patients with excessive sweating of the palms and soles, iontophoresis  can be performed at the Hove rooms. This treatment involves soaking the areas in a medicated solution and passing a small electric current across the skin.

Hair Loss

There are a large number of causes of hair loss in male and female patients. You may require blood tests or a skin biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Depending on the cause, you may be offered topical products, injectables or tablet medication.

Rosacea

There are many ways in which this condition can present, and Dr Armenores is able to offer treatment directed at the various aspects of the disease.

For patients with redness of the face, you may be offered topical medication, but many patients do well with a course of treatment with the vascular lasers.

Patients with pimple-like lesions on the face may be treated with creams, gels or tablets.

Those with thickening of the nose skin (rhinophyma), you can be treated with a mix of traditional surgery and ablative lasers.

Nail Diseases

All forms of nails disease can be assessed by Dr Armenores and treatment will be offered where possible. Common presentations include fungal nail infections and nails involved with psoriasis.

Warts

Treatment of warts can be difficult and typically multiple treatment sessions are required.  You may be offered creams, strong prescription acids, cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen) or laser.
